Outlook add-in is not the newest version

Updated 2 weeks ago by admin

If the EMS or CEA Outlook add-in has not refreshed within 24 hours of an update being available, it could be cached locally by the Outlook client. The following steps can be followed to clear the cache and force Outlook to download the latest version.

Microsoft Windows

On the PC running Outlook O365 edition:

  1. Close Outlook
  2. Open File Explorer, or use Windows-R to open the Run dialog, and enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef\
  3. Move all of the files and folders to a temporary folder, thus deleting them all from the Wef folder
  4. Restart Outlook

Mac OS

  1. Close Outlook
  2. Open a terminal window and run the following commands.
  3. rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Outlook/Data/Library/Caches/*
  4. rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Outlook/Data/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Office/16.0/Wef
  5. rm -rf ~/Library/WebKit/com.microsoft.Outlook
  6. Open up Outlook
